In the cutting world, some of the best cutting horses have historically come from the Bartlett Ranch.

From their website:
“Bartlett Ranch today is comprised of three properties located in Alabama, Texas, and Wyoming with a combined land area totaling almost 90,000 acres. The original Flying B Flying “B” Ranch was established in Pike Road, Alabama in 1954 and remains the headquarters of this tri-state operation. Over 50 years ago Dr. H.B. “Woody” Bartlett’s vision of producing top quality American Quarter Horses was born out of several influences, not the least of which was his father, a well known physician who supplied his hospital with fresh meat and produce from his farm. It’s a well known fact that the elder Dr. Bartlett wanted his son to follow in his foot steps as a human doctor but Woody persisted in his desire to become a veterinarian with a talent for recognizing and breeding performance quarter horses that are both versatile and consistent.

barrett-brand“Most ranches of today have become highly mechanized but we strive to use our own horses for most ranching operations. “I think that’s one hallmark of a lasting performance ranch horse producer. I mean what better way to demonstrate your horses are the kind of quality we tout than by using them for multiple tasks on the ranch every day,” says Dr. Bartlett when asked how his operation stands out from others. Likewise, the cutting horses we produce are breed and trained for today’s competitors and as working cow-horses. It was Kelley Bartlett who exerted a great influence over the direction of the cutting horse operation, with establishment of Bartlett Ranch West outside of Weatherford, Texas. The now late Mrs. Bartlett was an uncommon visionary and a perfectionist. Two qualities that made both her and Bartlett Ranch successful. She was quite a lady.

In those early beginnings with great stallions like Quick Henry (AAA-AQHA Champion and track money-earner), to Handle Bar Doc (Deceased), (NCHA World Champion & Hall of Fame inductee), to Watch Two Eyed Buck, (AQHA Superior Calf Roping, Superior Heading, Superior Heeling and Open Performance Champion), and all the hundreds of great producing mares now and over the years. Times have changed but we try to bring the best of the past into the future. One way we do this is through our Spring and Fall sales in Thermopolis, Wyoming. Don’t miss your opportunity to acquire some of our best yearlings, geldings, colts, or fillies.”
